Dermatology Case Study 12

CHART NOTE

Complaint is a mass over the dorsum of the right second toe.  This was thought to be a synovial cyst, and under local anesthesia it was aspirated of the typical clear gelatinous material and a small amount of Kenalog injected into the cyst.  It is suspected that the cyst will recur, and if it does the cyst will be excised.

The patient’s general health has been quite good.  He did have a burn on his neck many years ago and has developed a couple of small, keratotic, dark-colored lesions in the edge of the burn scar overlying the clavicle.  These were removed at the office for biopsy.

IMPRESSION
Synovial cyst of right second toe.
